The Plan
The Indiana Museum of Art is being developed as a multi-phase cultural initiative that integrates a contemporary art museum, a Creative Campus for artists, and a citywide public art network.
A Connected Cultural System
An Integrated Cultural System
The Indiana Museum of Art represents a new approach to cultural infrastructure—integrating exhibition, artistic production, and public space into a unified system embedded within the city. Rather than a single building, the project operates across multiple sites, creating a distributed museum experience.
Together, these components function as an integrated system:
The Museum
The Indiana Museum of Art presents internationally recognized contemporary art through rotating exhibitions and programming.
The Creative Campus
The Creative Campus establishes 24 live-work artist studios, a residency program, and a design technology lab, supporting year-round creative production.
The Public Art Network
A citywide network of sculptures and installations activates public space throughout downtown Logansport, reinforcing the city’s identity through contemporary art.
The Cultural Corridor
A walkable cultural corridor linking the museum, downtown, and riverfront into a unified arts district.
Why This Approach Works
By combining a museum, artist infrastructure, and public art into a single development strategy, the Indiana Museum of Art creates continuous activity, diversified revenue streams, and long-term sustainability. The integration of these elements ensures that the project is not only culturally impactful, but operationally resilient. This model positions Logansport as a regional destination for contemporary art.

Project Status
The Indiana Museum of Art initiative is in active development, with planning, partnerships, and public art implementation underway.
Development is being implemented in a series of coordinated phases:
Development Phases
Phase 1 — Public Art Network (2025–2026)
Implementation of monumental sculptures and establishment of the downtown sculpture corridor.
Phase 2 — Creative Campus (2026–2027)
Development of artist studios, residency program, and design technology lab.
Phase 3 — Museum Development (2027–2028)
Construction and launch of the Indiana Museum of Art and its exhibition program.
Phase 4 — Expansion & Programming
Ongoing growth of exhibitions, partnerships, and cultural programming.
Project Impact
The Indiana Museum of Art positions Logansport as a destination for contemporary art in the Midwest while contributing to long-term economic development, cultural tourism, and community identity. By integrating art, artists, and public space into a unified system, the project establishes a lasting cultural infrastructure that will shape the future of the region. Together, these elements establish a new model for cultural development in regional cities.
